Recently watched The White Lotus. A pretty dark satire, but standout performance for me was Murray Bartlett as Armond. He was delightful. I was reminded because I was reviewing Squire to get ideas for Wishing Tree, and now Murray Bartlett as Armond is my mental casting for Master Oakbridge. So put upon, just wants to curate a perfect dinner service. Now I'm imagining who will be Master Oakbridge's Shane, the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Kypriotha Miss Fisher is one of my favourite shows of all time. I frequently rematch it because it is perfection. I also love Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries. Definitely a worthy successor to the original. Otherwise, I recently watched Maya and the Three on Netflix. I highly recommend but make sure there's a tissue box handy, for a kids show it gets rough. I've also been working my way through Mom, but the further through it I get the less I'm enjoying it. The first 4 seasons were great but it's slowly gone downhill after that.

I've started my rewatch of The Mentalist and I'm loving all the little things I'd forgotten, plus damn, Jane and Lisbon's chemistry! Or maybe Simon Baker just has chemistry with everyone....

Sense8! And Family Ties and Frasier - those have been on again, off again since the beginning of this year.

The Letter for the King on Netflix. I like fantasy TV series. What can I say?

I just watched One Of Us Is Lying on Stan and I did not love it as an adaptation. The book is great, with characters you can empathise with and a twist that you can guess but it still enough of an "a-ha!" moment to be satisfying. I didn't like the characters as much in the TV show and I didn't like some of the plot changes they made (though I loved how they fleshed out Janae more).

I'm currently five episodes into Leverage. Bit formulaic, but I'm enjoying it so far.

I'm up to season 5 of The Mentalist and it's driving me crazy how they've made the lighting so much darker as the seasons progress! If a scene is in the CBI building, it's so unnecessarily dark and shadowy, both day and night.

Just watched the season 3 Christmas episode of BBC Ghosts and, while it didn't have the same emotional weight of the last Christmas episode, I still really enjoyed it. I really liked Lady B's backstory and how everyone lied to Kitty to keep the magic of Santa Claus alive.

Idk if any of you guys have checked out the Wheel of Time series on amazon prime, but it's fantastic. Incredibly lovable characters, complex and fascinating worldbuilding, diverse cast, and some truly award-worthy acting performances (I will be very shocked if Rosamund Pike doesn't get an Emmy nom for this).
I've never read the books (tried, because my family loves them, but it's infamously unreadable for the first several books and I just couldn't), but I can still tell it's a excellent adaptation because my family tell me every time there's a change in the story and they're always logical, economical, and fix some kind of problem with the writing. Other than the first episode being kinda badly edited and the action editing consistently being a bit iffy, I thought it was honestly kinda close to perfect. Highly recommend!

I watched season 1 of Broadchurch on the weekend. Really enjoyable and very emotional, though I do think the killer could have been hinted at a bit more than they were.

I just watched the third and final season of Kid Cosmic. It was a fun ride. Also, I'm very happy that the show's creator Craig McCracken got to finish one of his shows on his own terms, rather than it getting dragged out or cancelled. I'm also continuing to watch Leverage.

Sadly haven't been watching anything new (still on a very slow Phryne Fisher re-watch), but I really want to get my hands on season 4 of One Day At A Time.
(To be completely honest, I'm mostly only posting in the hopes that *a certain someone* will post about what TV show they've just finished...)

Cheer on Netflix. Don't really know why since I'm not really enjoying it too much.

Cheer on Netflix. Don't really know why since I'm not really enjoying it too much. I just finished a series on BBC iplayer which I thought I would enjoy (it was by the creators of two shows I love), but I didn't - funny how one gets committed! Sadly haven't been watching anything new (still on a very slow Phryne Fisher re-watch), but I really want to get my hands on season 4 of One Day At A Time. (To be completely honest, I'm mostly only posting in the hopes that *a certain someone* will post about what TV show they've just finished...)I see I've been indirected I'm actually in the middle of This is Going to Hurt which is a raw and viceral look at a junior doctor's life in the NHS. I do love some Phryne, though.

I finished Broadchurch and have been aimlessly looking for something new to watch. I've landed on Series 11 of Doctor Who (with Jodie Whittaker). I did watch the first few episodes when it originally aired, but then got distracted and gave it up, so hopefully I can now watch her entire run. I've pretty much watched Doctor Who religiously since Eccleston, though I did stop watching partway through Capaldi's run just because the writing was really annoying me. It's definitely interesting see how different Whittaker is in this versus Broadchurch.

I feel like I very specifically said "show they've just finished", not "currently watching"

I've been catching up on some Anime recently, since I've been waiting for things to be finished or almost finished and then binge watch it.
I've also been watching The Untamed on Netflix. It has a lot of characters and I really need to focus on it to follow whats going on, because it's in Chinese with subtitles, but I'm really enjoying it.

Double post apparently because no one has posted here in a while.
So... I have fallen into a fandom hole so deep I may never crawl my way out.
In my previous post I mentioned that I started watching The Untamed. Whelp... I'm obsessed. Fifty episodes and just, gah. I can't even. I'm now reading the book and watching the special edition of the show, and I have found the true OTP to end all OTPs. I highly recommend this show, especially if you're someone unbothered by subtitles.

I borrowed Galavant and the first Fruits Basket anime from the library yesterday. I'm having fun with Galavant so far as I've watched, and will start watching Fruits Basket soon.

MythicMistress can highly recommend both of those shows! If you enjoy the 2001 fruits basket anime you should definitely watch the new one as well. It's much better for the most part and follows the manga properly!
