Fic Author Spotlight on... k4writer02.
The spotlight opens on k4writer02. Smooth narrative, imaginative descriptions, and excellent characterisations make for thought-provoking and interesting reads. I've selected a few of my favourite fics of hers - I feel as though she provides something for everybody, from dramatic to humourous.

Title: Have You Ears to Hear?
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Who is more ruthless than the King of Thieves? Just because George Cooper has a sense of humor doesn’t mean he isn’t deadly when he needs to be.
Because: It's SOTL season at Goldenlake, and what better way to celebrate that than with a rare George as King of the Rogue piece. Similarly exposing his ruthlessness and his family loyalty, this piece is a wonderful insight into his character.

Rating: PG-13
Summary: During a lonely time, Kalasin Iliniat of Conté, empress of Carthak, receives a visit from her sister the princess Lianne of Conté and her friend Buri.
Because: The burgeoning relationship between Kalasin and Kaddar is depicted beautifully. It's a sweet and sharp tale, and this is how their story will be fixed in my mind.

Title: Advice for the Lovelorn Knight
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Gary goes to Squire Alan for advice on pursuing Cythera.
Because: Well, really, the summary says it all. It's everything that you could want a scene like this to be; funny and touching, with a nice focus on a friendship that I didn't feel was explored enough in canon.

Title: Avoiding Award Shows
Rating: PG
Summary: Part of the Althernative Universe Country Singers Open Universe. (Crack fic that turned serious on me). Raoul doesn’t attend an awards show. Partially inspired by watching the ACMs on TV last week.
Because: This is part of a thread on Goldenlake, that started off in a silly manner, by finding a place for each Tortallan character in the music business. It works so beautifully and smoothly in this fic, and Kate tugs on lots of different personality traits to pull something that should, by all rights, be ridiculous, off with flair.
