Notes From Admin

Hey Goldenlakers!

It’s hard to believe it’s been five months since we officially opened our doors! Who’d have thought we’d be so close to 150 members already!?

Staff

I’d like to start out by thanking all the staff for all their hard work and dedication to the board. I’d also like to welcome our latest three additions to the Moderation team: Wordy (Em),Verasque (Joa) and Aurorax (Ginger).

Projects

We have a number of projects going on around the board at the moment:
- The Goldenlake Cookbook, run by Kirsty (Rubberduck): We need more recipes, and will start the call for food-themed fanart next month!
- The Goldenlake Tamora Pierce Wiki headed by Isha (Ubiquitous): Currently on track to hit 1000 articles before the year is through.
- The Giantkiller Fanzine, run by editor Rojo: Sign-ups for the December issue will open in two weeks time.
- The monthly Fanart Challenges, run by Isha and Lanna (Serenity): The first of the monthly challenges went up today!

I strongly encourage you to get involved in as many of these as possible!

Competitions

The Peculiar Pairings Ficathon has been such a great success that we’ve extended the due date for entries until September 7 – make sure to get all your entries in by then!

We also have the Fairytales Challenge running in October, and Piercefic 09 throughout December 2009/January 2010!

Giantkiller

A special thanks to the team who helped put our second issue together! To everyone else - enjoy!
