It seems hard to believe that it has been another three months for Goldenlake, but I guess time flies when you're having fun. These last few months have been action-packed, and we're almost at the six month mark.
The Tortall forum has been abuzz with such topics as 'Technology in Tortall' and 'Food in Tortall', which got right down to the nitty-gritty of the workings of the Tortall-verse. Another popular thread was 'But wouldn't they have noticed?', which discussed the likelihood of people recognising Alanna as a girl in her page and squire years. The Peculiar Pairings Ficathon saw the introduction of the 'Weird and Wonderful Pairings' threads in both Tortall and Emelan, creating a slew of wild pairings and even wackier plotbunnies. Talk in Emelan has been all about Making a Movie? and discussing the merits of producing the Emelan books as a TV series or as movies. Slash in Emelan concerned itself with the prevalence of slash pairings generally in Emelan and in comparison to the Tortall-verse.
The Provost's Dog and Up and Coming Forums continued the Bloodhound fangirling with threads such as, Post-Bloodhound Shipping, while others such as What would you like to see in 'Mastiff'? looked towards the end of the trilogy and started speculation on what would come after Bloodhound.
Writer's Circle took a turn to writing style, with topics such as Personal Canon and and Narrative vs Dialogue. Other threads, such as NaNoWriMo 2009 looked to future writing projects, and discussed ways of attempting this year's NaNoWriMo, the ultimate test for any aspiring writer.
In July, the Goldenlake Drabble Prompts were changed to Malorie's Peak Prompts, and the widening of scope from not only drabbles, but to longer pieces as well as fanart. Prompt #10 was the latest to be published, and we have over 120 prompt responses to date, which is just phenomenal.
That about sums it up, I think. Don't forget to keep an eye out for Round Robin, which will be starting sometime in September, as well as the first monthly art challenge.
