Letter from the Editor

Goldenlake Community,

By the time you read this (if you actually read it instead of skipping down to the articles), it will hopefully be sparkly and shiny, like a new penny. Banners will be in place, all of the links will have been checked, and everything will have been gone over with a fine-toothed comb for spelling and grammatical errors.

While you add more books to your reading list, look for a job, or plot to steal the throne, the Giankiller staff will be fearlessly trying to erase memories of skipped deadlines (or simply “forgotten” ones), healing, trying to finish Peculiar Pairing fics, classes, performing moderator/admin duties, and writing into the wee hours of morn from those trying days used to put Giantkiller together.

Me? I am just going to pass out asleep on my bed (or desk chair, depending upon which one is closer).

But as stressful, time-consuming, and just plain aggravating (some days) as Giantkiller can be, you, the readers, make it all worth it. When we log back onto Goldenlake and receive comments such as “Great job,” “So creative,” or “Loved it,” we sit up a little straighter in our chairs, grin, and think “They like what I wrote. Me!”

Thank you, Goldenlake community. We do this for you, and you pay us back ten-fold.
