As a token of his love, Binur gave Mequen a ring silver as the moon reflected in the Zekoi and Mequen’s mud-dark eyes.

I'm so glad that you liked the color imagery here because I've always kind of preferred the color imagery associated with silver rather than gold and I agree that silver-dark makes for an evocative color contrast that I really like. So I couldn't resist having Binur give Mequen a beautiful silver ring as a tribute to his love.
