Title: Sake-Soaked Treason Rating: PG-13 for references to alcohol. Word Count: 31 Summary: Shinko’s father never could hold his liquor. Notes: Written for mistrali’s prompt “Liquor.” Thanks to mistrali for the inspiration. Sake-Soaked Treason Shinko’s father never could hold his liquor, and it was all too easy for her to envision a seemingly friendly courtier tricking his loose tongue into speaking words of sake-soaked treason.

Excellent sonics here: “speaking tricky words of sake-tongued treason”. And yes, I’m sure liquor has incited many a regrettable historical incident.

mistrali As always, thank you so much for reading and commenting on my work! The sonics of this story were definitely something I worked hard on and really tried to get right for this story. Really it was the sonics of the story that came to me first and then the concept built up around those sonics. But it started with me just really liking the sound of "sake-soaked treason" and then wanting to build a story around that phrase and image. So that was just what I did, and I'm so happy it worked for you!
