Title: Correspondence Word Count: 30 Rating: G Notes: Not sure about the rice paper, but surely they had some equivalent to cardstock. Summary and Warnings: Dove has a penpal.
After the diplomatic visit, Dove and Lianne keep up a lightning correspondence - they trade book recommendations, and send each other pressed flowers, dried leaves and sketches on rice paper.

Oh, I love the idea of Dove having a penpal to trade book recommendations and momentos with, and the fact that the penpal is Lianne makes the idea even more wonderful. This is my head canon now.

Thanks, as always! I imagine that after becoming queen, Dove would need a friend more than ever. She’s shown spending her leisure time with adults four times her age, which is all well and good, but not quite the same.
She is only thirteen, after all, and probably could have used someone to just chill out with (virtually!) after all the turmoil the Isles had just gone through. Especially with Sarai overseas, and especially when she’s probably still grieving Mequen’s death.
Glad it’s your headcanon! Lianne is Sarai’s age, but I can still see her and Dove getting along, since I headcanon them as being very similar to one another.
