Raoul and Francis is not a ship I’d ever thought to write, but this is lovely. And obviously, given Francis’s fare, tragic also.

mistrali, thank you so much for reading and commenting! I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Francis because of how quiet he is and his tragic death. Then last time I read the first Song of the Lioness book, I got to wondering what Raoul and Francis's friendship might have been like. Which I guess then turned into me writing Raoul/Francis fic because apparently the only way to make Francis's death more tragic is to make him be in a romance with Raoul at the time. It really does becoming heartbreaking thinking of their young love in the context of Francis dying of the Sweating Sickness. Yet another reason to curse Roger, I suppose.

Tragedy does sometimes lend itself towards the romantic, doesn't it! This is very sweet.

wordy, yes, sometimes, I just can't resist writing a good romantic tragedy. Something about that mix of emotions can be really compelling to explore. Thank you so much for reading, and I'm so happy you found it sweet!
