Merry Melodies What'Tis the season to be jolly, so warm up those vocal chords! Using song lyrics as prompts, we invite you to dust off your December songbooks, get those sleigh bells jingling (ring-tingle-tingling), and write us some lovely, seasonal fic! Feel free to be as creative as you like with those festive falalas - after all, it may be winter outside, but in your hearts it's spring (or even in reality if you live in the southern hemisphere!). Whatever the season of goodwill (denominational or otherwise) means to you, we'd love you to share it with us! When1 to 31 December. WhereGoldenlake's Events forum. Posting FormatPlease follow the below posting format: MM: Title, Rating Title: Rating : Summary: Song: Notes (and any Warnings): Rules1. Lyrics are intended to be a prompt, so no more than four lines quoted per fic. 2. The songs can be as loosely interpreted as you like; feel free to use the lyrics out of context. 3. Song choices should be associated with winter, December, and/or the holiday season. 4. Normal Goldenlake Fanfiction Rules apply.

I love holiday songs (can't wait until after Thanksgiving when it is a socially acceptable time to listen to them in the US) and I'm excited for this event. I might even already have an idea for a story inspired by "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas."

I’m ridiculously Christmassy - liable to get in the festive spirit roundabout September, so it’s probably obvious why my playlist is so long!

Yeah, I feel like I'm probably going to be extra into the Christmas spirit stuff this year because I need something to cheer me up in these times of pandemic. Lots of Christmas music for me too. So this event is perfect for that.

I'm not a big holiday music person, but maybe I'll find some good lyrics to inspire me! (Last Christmas is begging for some angst...)

The event is officially open now! Happy posting (and singing, as we all get the songs stuck in our heads...).

Just wanted to check that it would be acceptable to write a story or two inspired by songs for the Chinese New Year?
(I may have ideas for a story or two set in Yanjing inspired by Chinese New Year songs, which is why I ask...)
Thanks!
