I love the image of bright flowers blooming in the desert and the description of them as sunbursts is wonderful. It is also so fitting that they would be an invitation for Ali to meditate on the transitory nature of all life including his own.

Thank you so much as always! Yes, I think Ali’s the best suited for this contemplation. He has a unique perspective, being both a chronicler is the Bazhir’s written history and a repository for their oral history.
And of course, I’m sure his thoughts ran along these lines in WWRLAM in particular, having to train Jon to replace him.
