Title: The Minute Waltz Rating: G Word Count: 20 Summary: Ace!Sandry attends another ball at the Duke's Citadel Notes: Title is "The Minute Waltz" by Frederic Chopin
Balls were Sandry's least favourite social event at the citadel - the alienating intimacy threatened even her most gracious hostess smile.

Oof, when Sandry’s smile starts to crack, you know that’s not good news.
I can imagine - all the formality! Sandry is very much the ‘lounge around in comfortable dresses, cocktails and finger food, and informal dance’ type.
Edit: Oh, just noticed the word ‘intimacy’ and I don’t blame Sandry at all! Even for allo people it is probably endlessly frustrating to have random suitors try to speed-date you in the course of one dance. I bet she needs plenty of willowbark tea and quality time with Lark to recover!

I really like the phrasing of "alienating intimacy," and I definitely can understand Sandry's frustration in this piece.
