Title: Frosted Window Rating: PG Word Count: 26 Summary: Shinko draws images of the Yamani Islands on a frosted window. Notes: Part IV of my Shinko series. Written for mistrali ’s prompt “Window.” Thanks to mistrali for the inspiration. Lian is my nickname for Roald and Shinko’s daughter Lianokami, because I personally prefer it to Liano. Frosted Window Shinko’s breath frosted the window and she drew the jagged peaks of the mist-shrouded Yamani mountains on the chilled winter glass for little Lian to admire.

I love Lian as a name too, and I love this quiet little moment between mother and daughter <3 ‘Mist-shrouded’ is particularly beautiful.

mistrali, thank you so much for commenting! I'm so glad that you love Lian as a name too because I think it looks so pretty, and that you enjoyed this quiet moment between mother and daughter. It was definitely a moment in time that I enjoyed writing, and it makes me so pleased that you appreciated the phrasing of "mist-shrouded." Where I live, it has been misty for several days now and I imagine the Yamani Islands getting a lot of mist and rain, so somehow that ended up creating the phrase "mist-shrouded" to describe the Yamani Islands.
