As Evvy watched air pockets swell on the sizzling naan, she remembered Chammur street wisdom that large bubbles meant someone hungry was nearby; Evvy had hungry eyes but no money to buy naan.

Oh no - poor baby Evvy The description of watching air bubbles rise on the naan is such a nice detail. And must be all the worse because I’m sure it smells delicious. I love slice of life fics like these that capture a snapshot in the life of the character - like I said before, you’re great at those!

mistrali My heart did break for poor, hungry little Evvy in this piece. I'm so glad that you liked the detail of the air bubbles rising on the naan, and I definitely think the naan would smell absolutely delicious and be so tantalizing to a hungry child who didn't have the coin to buy any of it. I do really enjoy writing slice of life fics--maybe because they don't involve a lot of plotting and I'm not the best at coming up with plots, haha--where I can just focus on setting and characters, so it makes me so happy that you think I'm great at writing them
