Title: Summer Dusk Rating: G Prompt: Butterfly Words: 13 Summary: The seven wonders of Kypriang (I)
Notes: It’s my headcanon that the Copper Isles’ proper name is Kypriang. And these are inspired by haiku, so forgive the... unorthodox punctuation.
Jerykun, summer dusk: sunset butterflies spiral homeward in a fuschia-and-amber cloud.

I can definitely see the haiku inspiration. Such poetic language and beautiful imagery to create meaning!

The imagery for this one is beautiful and I love it. Also, you've sold me on the proper name being Kypriang!

Thanks to both! Seek I actually thought that was canon, given that their language is called Kyprish, but no, ‘Kyprish’ just seems to be a reference to Kyprioth. Which, considering we don’t have Cyprus, Sumerian and Greek in Tortallverse to give us ‘copper’, would seem to mean that ‘copper’ came from Kypr-(ioth) (and therefore from the Isles). Unless Kyprioth’s own name is an Eastern Common corruption of whatever his original name was in Kyprish. Maybe Mithros and the Goddess forced him to use ‘Kyprioth’ instead of ‘Trickster’. Or maybe he has hundreds of names and he took a shine to the name Kyprioth, or it had some etymological relation to the word ‘crow’ in Kyprish. /shrug

Kyprish seems to have a close relation to Bahasa Indonesia (which makes sense, given that the Copper Isles - sorry, Kypriang - have a heavy Indonesia influence), and 'Kyprioth' alomost sounds like it would be a luarin corruption/loanword of whatever the Kyprish word would be.
