The ocean seemed empty and endless stretching to the blue horizon and echoing seagull caws, but Shinko knew unseen life teemed beneath churning, white-capped waves as she sailed to an uncertain future in Tortall.

Nicely done! It’s so very Shinko to think about the marine life beneath the surface, I feel.

mistrali, thanks so much for commenting! I'm so glad that you found this piece nicely done, and that you felt it was very Shinko to think about the marine life beneath the surface because in general I believe Shinko is the type to consider what is beneath the surface so it was great to be able to showcase that side of her character in this story.
