mistrali, thank you so much for commenting, and I'm so happy that you loved the descriptions here. I definitely think that Kally would look gorgeous in purple, and I do feel sorry for her and Kaddar for having to deal with the headaches of ruling Carthak. Tamari, thank you so much for commenting! I've always loved the color symbolism of purple as royalty so I couldn't resist incorporating that into this fic, and lavender is such a beautiful scent associated with the color purple that I just had to include it in this story as well. And lavender is so luxurious too, so it is perfect for an empress like Kally. And I do feel sorry for her getting sick of the pomp and makeup an empress of Carthak must wear.
