I like the contrast between what Gyongye teaches Evvy and what Winding Circle teaches her. A nice exploration of her resilience and how it developed.

Thank you! Evvy goes through so much, as all of them do.
But I particularly like the relationship between her nature and her magic. She’s so... I don’t know, boisterous? Loud? In your face? Whereas you’d expect a stone mage to be quiet, shy, grave and dignified. Yet she clearly adores stone and it’s a rare instance where we see that like thread with Sandry, it’s been useful to her before Briar finds her, even if she doesn’t know she has stone magic.
She also does things like shove so much power into it that it goes soft! XD So she really uses it as part of her journey to recovery when she doesn’t have the smoothest ride, e.g. she has to deal with Jebilu Stoneslicer and the gangs. It seems to be her source of power and her source of safety in a very uncertain time.

I love this one - it's short but really sticks with you, and I feel it picks out what must be two extremely formative places for Evvy!

Wow, this is amazing! The semi-colon works perfectly to emphasize the contrast. There's a whole character arc in these 18 words.
