What are your favourite quotes from the Emelan series?
Mine is this one:
A girl nearby muttered,"If that's a lady, I'm a cat."
Reaching out, Sandry lifted the pitcher of milk from the table. Cradling it in both hands, she walked over to the mutterer. “I am Sandrilene fa Toren, daughter of Count Mattin fer Toren and his countess, Amiliane fa Landreg. I am the great-niece of his grace, Duke Vedris of this realm of Emelan, and cousin of her Imperial Highness, Empress Berenene of the Namorn Empire. You are Esmelle ei Pragin, daughter of Baron Witten en Pragin and his lady Colledia of House Wheelwright, a merchant house. If I tell you my friend is a lady, then you"- carefully she poured milk into Esmelle's plate -"you had best start lapping, kitty."

Rosie, that one’s a gem. Sandry being Sandry. The one that always sticks in my mind for sheer lyricism is, “They are the ocean’s pulse, and our own heartbeat.”

Kypriotha, it’s from The Magic in the Weaving, when Niko teaches Tris to meditate using the winds

Huh, I didn't know that! But it is lovely My favourite Emelan quote is probably the kitty one Rosie mentioned. I also like an exchange between Tris and one of the others (Sandry?) about reading, which is something along the lines of "go away I'm reading" "you're always reading, if people didn't interrupt you they could never talk to you", but I can't remember which book it's from to check how badly I've mangled it.
