Do you have any favorite sports to watch or play? My favorite sports to watch are hockey, gymnastics, and figure skating. I don't play any sports now (my exercise normally involves a treadmill or hiking now) but I did play soccer and do gymnastics when I was a kid. How about you?

NAGINATA.
Worlds is coming up in Germany in a few months. I made a bid for my national team, so I'm sort of perpetually exhausted - full-time job, fanfiction-writing, several practices a week are killing me slowly.
Other than that, I like watching figure skating, gymnastics, fencing... that sort of thing. Heh.

Training for your national team is really impressive, but I can totally understand how that would be exhausting when working a full-time job too. Good luck with making your national team. That would be an awesome accomplishment! Nice to meet someone else who is a fan of figure skating and gymnastics too. I'm already looking forward to the Tokyo Olympics, ha ha.

I play badminton off and on (though currently off - work is my life right now). I'm a solidly average player for the length of time I've been playing and I'm quite happy with that; I'm mostly into the social/fun aspect of it when I do play.

That's cool that you play badminton when work allows. I used to enjoy badminton in gym class and I liked it the handful of times that I played it socially at backyard barbecues and such. Perhaps I should see if there is a badminton rec league for me to play in locally. Like you, I would definitely have to play for the fun and socializing aspects because I am terrible at anything athletic being awful with anything involving bodily coordination. So exercise occurs because it is healthy for me not because I have any talent at it.

It's a good sport to play socially because the rules are pretty simple and you can play at any level of ability and have fun.

I like horse riding because I get out of breath easily, it’s not just sitting on a horse and really easy (so many people think, that just cos it’s sitting it’s easy, but it’s really not!) But it exercises your legs and core more so it’s a lot better for me! Oddly enough, some of my friends do it too so it’s a great conversation for lunch- and for changing the conversation in an argument! 🤫🤫😄

I actually do ballet (and contemporary during the hols), not professionally of course but it’s still really fun! And I saw in the earlier posts that y’all are looking forward to the Tokyo Olympics. Have you watched the gym competitions? Anyone dances/does gym here?

That's awesome that you do ballet.
I used to do gymnastics, but I wasn't very good at it. Now that I'm older I just watch other people do it.
I was able to watch the women's gymnastics qualifications (at least for the subdivision with the US in it) on the NBC replay. I especially enjoyed watching Suni Lee and the Russian gymnasts. I also could see the team finals when it replayed on NBC though NBC coverage just showed the Russians and Americans. I would've at least liked to have seen a routine or two from the British team that won a historic bronze medal. But, alas, NBC had to make time for commercial breaks...
Looking forward to watching the women's all around final tonight. I was spoiled by the news already that Suni Lee won the all-around and I am super proud of her.
I really love her gymnastics and think she has been wonderful representation for her Hmong community!

To be honest, I did gym when I was like two and quit to transfer to ballet because apparently I hated gym (Can’t fathom why though). I had a blast watching the olympics, though I actually enjoyed watching the Croatians and Mai Murakami!!
