Title: Midnight Oil Rating: PG Word Count: 22 Summary: Royal romance is a commodity Notes: Sorry, no Peter Garrett RPF here. It's about politics, though. Does that count? Characters/Pairings: Dove/OC

Midnight Oil
Dove and Akash fell asleep at their desks most nights - chess and conversation, let alone other, more romantic things, were luxuries.

This is so sad, and it shows the downside of royal marriages/romances with people who take their responsibilities seriously. Royalty gives you so many luxuries, but in Dove's case, romance and time are luxuries she can't have. Great fic.

Unfortunately, yes, I don't envision there being much time for romance in her life, but then again, it always seemed to me that she'd value other things, like honesty, friendship and intellectual conversation, over chemistry. Sadly, even that is probably too hard for her, because she's so new to juggling all her responsibilities. Whereas in my headcanon and in my fics about them, Kaddar and Kalasin always make time for romance, just because that's the way I think they're both geared. I envision them as very much as strong-willed characters in love with each other and wanting to cultivate the playful side of their relationship, I guess.
Oh, and thanks, as always, for reading and commenting!

Once I think about it now, Dove would value other things over romance, and she'd probably be struggling with ruling as well. She is new to it - and very young.
That's fine, I love to let people know what I think about their work.
