Series: A Worthwhile Fight [Kaddar/Kalasin] Title: Treasure Hunt Rating: G Event: 110H (no names) Competition: Triathlon Words: 110 Summary: Kaddar is rather skeptical about the task he's been given. Warnings: None Other Notes: Kally isn't physically present in this one (for a reason), so please let me know if it's against the rules.
Series title from Taylor Swift. --------
"It's Tortallan tradition at weddings," Jonathan told him, eyes solemn. He privately suspected it was no such thing, but her friends and siblings chorused assent; Lianne even produced a silken blindfold and, greatly daring, tied it around his head.
He heard whispering from the viewing platform and winced: her ladies-in-waiting were probably staring too, laughing behind their hands at him.
But it would be several kinds of disastrous to gainsay the king and queen, even if the joke was on him. He bowed in their direction, smiled in a way he hoped didn't show his embarrassment, and set off to find his bride-to-be within the grounds of her own palace.

Ooh, I love the idea behind this! Nicely done.

Thank you! I got the idea from something I read somewhere about a groom having to chase and catch his bride as part of the wedding ceremony.
Of course, then I adapted it because confused!Kaddar is so endearing.

Kaddar, I'm pretty sure 'Thayet convinced Buri and Alanna to pull one over on Jonathan when they got married' doesn't actually make it OFFICIAL tradition, but it's close enough.

I rather like this idea. It's a good way to break the ice with the in law's court.

I love the way you slip into Kaddar's mind here. I can't put my finger on why but he reads so much like the canon Kaddar. Excellent work!

Thanks - I admit I didn't particularly try to make him sound canonical, but I'm glad it came through.
