Summary: The Duchess of Naxen intercepts a note.

The Duchess of Naxen reread the note in front of her with knitted brows.
When the messenger for the Duke had arrived late in the evening during a Council meeting, she had accepted the delivery in his place. As she unwrapped the book, intending to leave it in her husband’s large study, a note had fallen out.
Hastily scrawled, it came from one of the Duke’s watchers in the City of the Gods.
It is as you said - Lord Alan of Trebond had two children. The boy is in the Cloisters. My sources say there is no second boy, but a girl.
Cannot find a girl. Advise by return messenger if we are to look.
Crumpling the note, The Duchess leaned closer to the fire and tossed it in. She watched the parchment burn until it was just ash.
Everyone had secrets, even her son’s flame-haired friend. If the note was right, well... she could help protect Page Alan a little longer.
