Title: Absolution Rating: PG For: WeirynPrompt: 1. Thom and Alanna reunite in the Peaceful Realms Summary: Two spirits meet at the gates to the Black God's realm. Notes: May not be exactly what you were looking for, but I had some time on my hands, and inspiration struck. Hope you enjoy it! Happy Wishing Tree! - Some spirits pass before the watchful eyes of the Black God, and then dissolve like smoke before his throne; all the deeds of a past life weighing them down, rendering them into dust. Some are carried by the pigeons; wailing shadows of their former selves. He takes them, gathers them up to himself, and when he takes their pain, their sorrows, their fears, there isn’t very much left: the mere moth-thin shreds of self. One shade waits behind the gates to the Black God’s realm. The dead pass, and still, this shade endures. The boatloads of spirits slain in the Immortal Wars, and then a thousand murdered children, and a large blond-haired Scanran man, and a reedy man, throat rent, gaping. The Black God takes them, but not this one. And then: After innumerable years, passing like the gathering of fine dust: One spirit, brightly burning, strides up to the gates to the Black God’s realm. Draws up short. Says, “You idiot.” “I’m sorry,” the shade whispers, eyes glittering with purple flame. They enfold themselves in each other’s arms, tightly. “You waited.” “I waited for you. I’m proud of you, you know?” “You idiot. You could’ve—” “No. I couldn’t.” The gate swings open, and the Peaceful Realms lies beckoning to them. “Come,” says the newcomer, taking him by the hand. “Look. They’re all there, waiting.” But, he wants to say, but his voice catches, dies in his throat. She tugs, insistently. Hand in hand, they walk into the light.

Break my heart, why don't you! This is very ethereal and the way you describe the twins (indistinct features, no names) makes them feel believably like spirits.
