Title: The Triumph of Achilles Rating: PG-13 Word count: 43 Summary: The world has gone black before my eyes. Phelan/Verene. AU. Character Death. Notes: Prompt ‘mine’. Summary line is from another Dylan song.
The last thing Otelia ever hears, after the smooth hush of the knife, the pain that transcends screaming, is ‘She was mine’, in a whisper too soft to belong to anyone but the one turned rusher; the one they say she had loved.

This really fits with the title--and I do like the dark path this takes.

Thanks guys!
I honestly think that if one of Verene's dogs had survived the tavern fight Phelan would have cracked. Like in the way only a rusher can.
