Word Count: 510
Pairing/Fight: R1 FD Neal/Yuki
Kel, Neal, Yuki, Buri, Raoul, Merric, Seaver, Roald, and Cleon were all crammed into Neal's tiny dorm room. It consisted of random exotic plants, three shelves of books, a two-legged table and a Shrek bedcover.
The first thing Raoul said when he walked in was, "Do you seriously still like Shrek?"
Neal had replied bitingly the his sister Jess was the one obsessed with it, and had given it to her older brother for a birthday gift. "Because apparently when you're consumed by an obsession, you're supposed to contaminate everyone else with it."
"Oh, like Doctor Who?" Kel added from behind Raoul. She was taller than him, so Neal could growl at her poker face.
"That's different, Mindelan," he mumbled.
"No it isn't," sang Yuki, coming in the door. She surveyed everyone and snorted. "We are so mature, aren't we?" she said, just loud enough for Neal to hear, and flopped on the couch.
He would have glowered, but no one glowers at Yuki. "Who wants tea?" he asked sarcastically.
"Not me," everyone chorused except for Kel and Yuki.
"Sorry guys, it's not on the agenda."
Merric wandered in from the bathroom with his signature faded look and raised his eyebrow suggestively. "But I know what is." He paused. "I brought popcorn, and we're playing Truth or Dare."
"Aw, no!" Buri said loudly as Neal scoffed.
Yuki just sat cross-legged next to Roald, trying not to laugh.
"Okay, Merric, this is where I draw the line," Roald said quietly, his voice still commanding the group's attention.
"Naw, we're doing this," Cleon said, chomping loudly on a handful of popcorn. "Raoul first."
Buri huffed and kicked off her boots.
"Everyone in a circle," Raoul said tauntingly. "Quiet down, children." He spread a big hand over the carpet. "Okay. Yuki."
She perked up instantly.
"Truth or Dare?"
"Truth."
"Kay." Raoul snickered and steepled his hands. "Who do you like, then?"
A barrage of complaints ensued at this, but Yuki held up a hand. "It's fine, guys. I can do this." She resisted the urge to put on her sunglasses and sighed. She turned to every face in the room and rested on Neal's. He was watching her expectantly, with those green eyes of his and wide, impertinent lips.
"Uh…" she started hoarsely. "It's something to do with a flower."
All faces, including Neal's, were blank.
If Yuki had been in her right mind enough to look closer, she would have seen a glint of recognition in Kel's eye.
"A daffodil."
"Oh…" Neal whispered, and stared at her with a kind of horrified shock for a moment.
"Yeah," said Yuki lamely.
"I knew it," Cleon muttered and pounded Neal on the back. "She likes you too."
"How did you guys…" Neal said, gazing at Yuki intensely. He waved a careless hand. "Oh, never mind them."
Merric whooped and pushed Neal towards her. He tripped on the table and stubbed his toe, finally regained his balance, and landed on Yuki's lap.
"We should probably switch," she whispered, and dropped her popcorn on Merric's head.
