Summary: And what happens after the mortal enemy is slain?

“Flames sprouted from the Gate into the stone, devouring the body of Roger of Conté.”
Her eyes welled with unshed tears. Was it possible that he was dead for good this time? Completely? What would the point of her life be, now that this feat had been achieved?
She needed to find a purpose – a focus – after so much time spent focusing on him. She needed to find a new goal.
She stumbled over to her computer, pulled up a new word document, and began typing. Everyone loved zombie Roger – or they would once Kat was done with them.
