Title: Lesson two Rating: PG Team: PD/SS Prompt: do no harm Word count: 100 Summary: Mastiff spoilers. A different kind of healing.
She doesn’t visit his grave. Not after the first time.
Her grief had been deep and raw, but she has learned to harden her heart. Some days, she remembers his grin, and that hurts most of all.
We could have fixed this, she wants to tell him.
At first it was the loss that had hurt her. But, alone with his ghost and the ghost of what he has done, it’s the betrayal that opens the wound once more.
She gives her life to the sword. Vows not to welcome any more pain, except that which she brings upon herself.

Oh man. This is Sabine, isn't it :/ I like this one. It's got a very poetic feel to it, and the last two lines are just stunning!

This is so sad. It's a wonderful use of the prompt and what constitutes harm. The pain and her reaction are so visceral. It hurts to read it.

Nuu. I knew it would break my heart in the end... I liked the idea of her grief at losing him at all slowly changing into the knowledge that he had chosen to do some pretty awful things, and how that must have affected her. Sad.
