Title: Lesson one Rating: PG Team: PD/SS Prompt: healing lessons Word count: 194 Summary: She knows it’s not in his nature to be a kept man.
Clary had warned her, before she’d left, so Sabine had been prepared.
But having Mattes at her mercy is rather more pleasant than all that, despite the show of unbearableness he’d put on for the Dogs. “You’re far too good to me,” he says, when she opens the curtains to the sun every morning, and brings him food and pastries, and, “You do like to torture a man,” when she climbs on top of him, carefully, balancing her weight so as not to hurt his legs, and kisses him.
Under her care, he becomes pliable. She knows it’s not in his nature to be a kept man—he likes to spoil her—but there’s something sweet about him when there’s not a need to be gruff and intimidating.
It will only last a few more weeks. She makes the best of it, for the both of them.
His legs are not quite healed when Clary and Beka return, but his usual humour is. In between visitors he catches her eye, or kisses her fingers, and all of that is the Mattes she remembers, so there’s nothing to do but smile and kiss him back.

Loved it! The sweetness of their relationship and his character is good, as well as Matte's wildness and independence here. Great work. You managed all that in shocking brevity, as well... kudos.

This is really sweet, and you show Sabine's caring side really well! I also love the little mention of Clary being concerned enough to warn Sabine about Mattes.

Aw, this is really sweet. It's an excellent look into the way the characters would act that we as readers don't get in the book. Great use of the prompt.
