Series: Weighed and Measured Title: Hungry Lions Rating: G Event: 110-word reverse hurdles Words: 110 Summary: Because sometimes, you just need silly sibling fluff. Thom and Alanna, raiding the kitchen. No warnings.
For Seek.
***
Lord Alan never heard about the missing cherry tarts.
Hungry lions followed Cook around all afternoon, from the moment he first discovered the tarts missing and hollered fit to raise the roof.
Alanna hated working magic, hated doing illusions especially (they were trickery, and trickery was beneath a proper knight, she felt), but if there was one thing Alanna hated more, it was getting caught.
"Thom, why can't you do this?" Alanna snapped; Thom, tart plate balanced precariously in his hands, stuck his tongue out at her in response.
The plate of tarts - juicy, sweet cherry tarts, from the best of the year's harvest - teetered in Thom's hands. He grinned.

Yay for more fluff! Hee. This works wonderfully in either direction, and it's fluff but it feels very true to the characters and not at all contrived (partly because it's a canon event, but still).
Alanna hated working magic, hated doing illusions especially (they were trickery, and trickery was beneath a proper knight, she felt), but if there was one thing Alanna hated more, it was getting caught. This is SO Alanna. Lovely.

Hee, pragmatic wee Alanna. Thom so arranged things so she'd have to work the illusions, too. ;D

Sneaky Thom, making her do the magic part while he gets to hold onto the tasty part... Very well done, portrays them exactly as I see them in my head as children.
