Title: Fairest of them All
Rating: G
Word Count: 264
Crossover: Tortall/Twilight
Summary (and any Warnings): Rosalie has a magic mirror that gives her an answer she doesn't exactly like.
Notes: I can't believe I just wrote a Twilight crossover.
"What if I’m not a superhero? What if I’m the bad guy?"
Rosalie Hale looked at the mirror. Her perfection reflected back perfectly, the lighting causing her skin to sparkle just the smallest bit. She knew she was gorgeous. She didn’t need Edward’s stupid mind trick to know that she was prettier than everyone else - especially when she had this particular mirror. It was one of those oddities one could only find when they had unlimited time and money. She had found it on her last honeymoon in Europe with Jasper.
She titled her head just slightly allowing the light to refract off the hard lines of her chiseled face, and remarked, “Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who’s the fairest of them all?”
A green mist formed within the depths of the silvery reflective surface, and from that mist an a face so generic as to be almost boring emerged. The face become solid in fractions of a second that would not be viable to human eyes. The face looked out and remarked without effect, “Queen Thayet of Tortall is the fairest, my mistress.”
Rosalie was mad. The mirror had never before denied that she was the best of anything. It was as absurd as her older brother taking an interest in that unremarkable human when he had never even looked at her. She pulled the mirror off the wall and smashed it onto the floor. It was only then that she realized she had no clue where this Tortall was or how to get there. Perhaps, Alice could see the way, because Rosalie was quite sure that her rival was in fact going down.
