Title: Temptation Rating: G Prompt: 63-Kissing Frogs Summary: She knows why not. Do you know who she is?
It was stupid. Childish, immature, and stupid, like him. And incredibly tempting. Like him. But, no. She wasn’t the sort of woman who…waited for a man to carry her over a threshold, and hoped he’d carry her to a good place. She wasn’t someone who prayed for the best, she was someone who worked for it. She didn’t take chances on people; she knew they were unreliable. And she knew every flaw of hers that already promised to break this impossible thing, this ridiculous predicament, to make living and life impossible. It was tempting, but she saw the risk. Saw it, and recognized it, and hoped, against all her ideals, that someone would blind her to it eventually. But not this time. Not him.

Beka about Rosto? Alanna about Jon?

Both are right, but I was thinking of Alanna and Jon (esp. the first line). But yes, Rosto can be "childish, immature, and stupid" too, it's just better when he does it.

I read it as Alanna and Jon - love the ambiguity, though!

Alanna/Jon was actually my first reaction, because the style fit them more, even if when second guessing I thought maybe the explicit situation fit Beka/Rosto more. But Beka would never really talk like that! Great little piece. ^^

Thanks to you all--I really enjoy looking at the relationship between Jon and Alanna (even though, ahem, I usually end up glaring at Jon).
