Title: Okay Rating: PG Words: 169 Wishlist Item: Vania/Zahir - facing naysayers Summary: The bahzir don't accept Vania.
Vania slipped into the tent of her husband. As she removed the veils she wore out of deference to the culture, Zahir could see that she was upset. He stepped over and enveloped him into her arms, “You okay?”
It was an empty question. Anyone could tell that she wasn’t, but she just replied, “Yeah, it’s just the usual.”
Sadly, it wasn’t the first time that she had returned upset. It seemed that people either didn’t think a truly Bazhir voice should have a Tortallan bride or that a princess never should have married the Bahzir knight even if her father had been Bahzir in a sense. They only cared that she hadn’t been raised in a tent under the sun.
“That doesn’t make it okay,” Zahir reminded her hating to see her so upset.
“True, but it’s the way things are,” she replied reminding her that it was only four more months before they would be back at the palace in Corus under the protection of her brother.

Awwwww! I like the fact that, even though it's easy to imagine stomping around and saying 'I do what i WANT.', in reality, it's usually a matter of sucking it up and dealing.

Vania is so lovely and practical here. My favorite part is that Vania deals with it with such composure.

I'm echoing the love for Vania being so practical here and dealing with her critiques as best she can. This is a lovely and realistic portrayal of Zahir and Vanias married life
