Summary: Tris summors Keth to Summersea.
Keth was on his way to Namorn, and he had decided to visit Tris in Summersea. Actually, he seemed to view her letter as more of an order. As he entered the gate to the house he had been informed that she shared with her siblings, he would have sworn that he saw a tiny vine move slightly along the wall of the house. Raising his hand to knock, he heard a familiar voice call out from inside, “Enter.”
Tris was sitting in a well padded chair by the back window. She was holding a book, but her attention was turned towards the outside world. She looked smaller than he remembered, almost broken. She got up and headed to the fire. Each step was calculated. Keth hurried over to get the kettle before she could. As he reached directly into the fire, he felt the now familiar spark of lightning on his skin.
“I’m not helpless, she began. At the same time, he said, “That won’t work on me anymore”
As she settled back into the chair letting him deal with the tea, she said, “I just wanted to check.”
He countered,” I know you’re not helpless.”
“Of course you do. So, I recently was in Namorn. I saw some wonderful glasswork there.”
He looked down. He knew she had been in Namorn. Anyone who was anyone knew that. “It was likely the work of my family.”
“Likely,” she countered. “I heard you were on your way to visit your family.”
“I am.”
“I just thought I should warn you to be careful about mentioning me there. My siblings and I are not the most popular there.”
“That wasn’t the only reason you summoned me out of the way was it.”
“No.”
“May I ask why I am actually here?”
“I thought I’d check up on you.. It’s been a few years. I also thought Glaki might like to see her uncle Keth, but mainly I have a favor to ask. There was an older mage I met there, and I hoped you would be willing to check on him for me.”
Keth just stared at her. Tris did seem to collect people and fix them. Hells, he’d done that for her. There was no way to refuse. The main business of this detour handled the two talked on about this and that.
