Message: Your Emelan fics are so awesome that I'm almost scared to post this for you, but this prompt seemed so fun. It kind of went in a different direction than I had planned. I hope you like it.

Title: Dormitory
Rating: PG
Words: 269
Wishlist Item: 4. Tris. Lightsbridge. Dorm rooms. Stray animals.
Summary: Tris contemplates life in the dorm at Lightsbridge.
Tris entered her little room in the dormitory, looked around, and thought that the concept of a dorm hadn’t really improved since the last time she’d lived in one. At least, at lightsbridge she only had to share her room with one other person, a girl around Glaki’s age. Usually, this wouldn’t bug her too much, but it seemed as though Alyss had never truly learned how to keep her living quarters clean. She guessed that was what came from growing up rich with servants. A part of Tris wondered if she would have ended up like that if her family hadn’t essentially disowned her, but one look at the dust covered disorganized stack of books changed her mind.
Walking toward her perfectly alphabetized bookshelf, Tris selected what to most would look like an ordinary accounts book. Only a few people knew that it was really a copy of Scrying the Winds that she was editing for publication. She walked over to the comfy chair she had set to allow her to sit by the open window bask in the sunshine and watch storms be born. Alyss must have shut the shutters; she always did which annoyed Tris. Sadly, Tris couldn’t explain why she hated feeling shut in without breaking her cover.
As Tris settled into her chair, she pushed the shutters open. A number of small birds that she had taken in over the past few months settled onto the window ledge (the baby birds were yet another thing her roommate didn’t understand). She sprinkled some bread crumbs and seeds next to them and settled in to work.
