Title: Siren Call Rating: PG-13 Word Count: 202 Card: Summer Bingo: (Sun + Water + Air + Fresh + Holiday) Summary: Sabine has no choice but to return to him. Some backstory for PD. Part 1 of 4. Sabine/King Roger (who is almost as good as Katty’s Roger)
When King Roger called, she never hesitated.
His magnetic charisma and frequent, light touches had seduced her, stuffed her head with cotton so that she had to escape to breathe, to find fresh air untouched by his presence. Sabine fled to the hill country every summer, tracking and trapping bandits for the king’s justice. She avoided his presence, more from mulish stubbornness than from anything, as if to prove to herself that she didn’t need him.
Sabine knew that was akin to claiming that a plant could refuse the sun and rain, and still thrive.
So when at the beginning of winter her personal siren beckoned, the knight returned, warming herself from the cold of the season with the heat of his bed. Every midwinter ball, they danced together - just once - and she preened under the intensity of his gaze, the warmth of his hands, and the promise dancing on his lips.
He was a dangerous addiction, Sabine knew, but every summer she suffered from intense withdrawal, and every winter when he called, she sought the warmth of his presence and ached to drink in the sight of his cool blue eyes, midnight hair, and secretive smile for her alone.

This is so intriguing - I like that you've made this into a reciprocated passion, instead of Roger just being a creep, as is so often done.

Part two. Now.
I love the sensuality, the atmosphere, and the look into their relationship. So basically... everything.
