Title: Silk Rating: G Summary: A dress never meant so much. A drabble about Delia for girlcalledsun. - - - The note read simply, Wear this instead. R.She turned it over in her hands, looking for more. Advice, perhaps an explanation. But nothing. She glanced towards the beauty that lay before her. It was an exquisite work of green silk, with a beaded bodice and a neckline considerably lower than she’d ever worn. She looked at the dress she was to wear tonight. It was a sturdy gown that had belonged to her sister-in-law. She had done her best with careful embroidery and a dash of lace, but it was still shabby. Old. Plain. Well, Delia didn’t want plain.

Wow- I love this way of Delia first encountering Roger, and her ambition and wanting a nice dress for her presentation leading her on. Lovely description!

I find this one fascinating... not only is there the Delia-wants-to-be-better/prettier/more wonderful-than-she's-able, but the fact that Roger just has the power to make her do something - to play on possible insecurities and such. It's psychologically wonderful, and I'm not expressing my thoughts as I should. ^_^;;
