Title: Dream Rating: G Character: Clary Goodwin Event: AU Pole Vault Words: 167 Summary: Tomlan's had a strange dream.
“I had the oddest dream,” Tom murmured, and pressed a kiss to her hair. “I dreamed that the carpentry shop was robbed again, except this time you were one of the Dogs that came to investigate it.” “Me?” Clary rubbed her hand over the swell of her stomach. “With the baby and all? Gods, that’d be a laugh.” She stretched up and kissed him softly. “I expect you must’ve been worrying about it all before you went to sleep.” Tomlan nodded, confusion still lingering on his face. “It just felt so real. Like you really belonged there with them.” Arguing voices and footsteps on the floorboards above them started up, followed by the unmistakable wails of a baby. Clary snorted as she sat up in bed. “Did your dream offer any insights as to how I’d manage the Dog work on top of the sewing and a house full of little ones?” She ruffled his hair affectionately as she climbed out of bed. “Go back to sleep.”

Ren, you know how much I adore your Clary and you've managed to capture her here just perfectly. So often we think of her being a Dog, such a separation from the typical quiet woman, that we forget that she could exist without it. She is still so very Clary, though, that it seems like it could be real. I love how you have used Tom as well as her little brood

Clary = Wonder Woman, no matter what she does.

^ Agree! And I love this insight into another facet of her personality. I think she would make a great mother, even as a Dog. Now I'm hoping that's the reason she took a desk position so we could see it in canon!

It's strange seeing Clary so separated from Dog work, when that is so very much of what she is, but you have pulled it off so very well, in true Ren style!
