Title: New In Town Rating: PG Character: Aniki Event: AU Pole Vault Words: 164 Summary: Aniki, Kora and Rosto reach the end of their travels and consider what comes next.
They stood at the back of the room — weaponless, of course — observing the court: the Rogue, surrounded by rushers, doxies, spintries, and other hangers-on. Being new in town, they knew they would soon be called upon to introduce themselves and explain their intent.
“She likes pretty coves, our Rogue,” Kora said, casting Rosto a sidelong glance. She spoke in Scanran, and for their ears only.
“She’s not our Rogue,” Aniki muttered.
“Not yet.” Rosto flashed her a grin. “And mayhap not for long.” Being from noble stock, he took it for granted he would lead any group he was a part of — something Aniki and Kora had come to expect over their weeks traveling together.
“You fancy staying in Port Caynn, then?” asked Aniki.
Kora spoke up. “I like it here.”
“I do too,” Rosto said. “And look around. These folk could use a change.”
Aniki grinned. “All right. Let’s introduce ourselves, then.”
Together, they edged toward the front of the crowd.

A little political upheaval is good for the soul.

Ooooh, I woud love to see you continue this train of thought. Especially in what it would mean for both cities. (and Beka's development, at that...)

Thank you! I think Pearl's a worse rogue than Kayfer was, and Rosto and the ladies would fit right in in Port Caynn, so maybe I'll continue.
