Title: Sanctuary Rating: G Couple: Gareth I/Roanna Event: 110 word hurdles Words: 110 Summary: Gareth and Roanna find a moment to stop and be a family. Thanks to Lisa for reading it over!
He had never cared much for his sister's garden, though he knew how she loved it. It had been her wedding gift from the king, all high-rise walls and quiet - a place of sanctuary for her in the midst of court battles.
Now, though, looking down on his firstborn, surrounded by stillness and those climbing plants Lianne was trying to train to cover the walls, he thought it quite perfect.
His wife curled up against him, lacing her fingers through his – sometimes she forgot, and placed two of her fingers where one of his was missing.
"Let's stay here forever."
He pressed a kiss to her forehead in answer.

Lianne's garden makes me happy - especially the "climbing plants" she's training. More importantly, I love that you've made it a place for *family* within so many of your stories. It's just... perfect.

Yay! I had 'Secret Garden' from my 31 days piece in mind here, actually, where Cythera and Gary are sitting with Glaisdan, and I wanted to mirror that. Also, I just weirdly love the idea of this garden

I get this feeling of such soft, sweet peace from this family moment, and I adore all the little details: Lianne training the plants to climb, little Gary, and Roanna forgetting her husband is missing a finger.
