Title: Sparks Rating: G Couple/Character: Alanna of Trebond/Liam Ironarm Event: 110 word hurdles Words: 110 Summary: Liam- playing nursemaid to Alanna (yet again) after the Doi retrieve her from Chitral- is watching her sleep and trying to rectify her reckless behavior. Even though we know how they end up, I always wanted to explore more of his thoughts about the whole situation.
***
The sleeping lady knight's face was arranged in a slight scowl, yet it still displayed more vulnerability than usual. In the warmth of the inn, her cheeks had regained their ruddy flush. He sighed grudgingly, regarding her from the fireside through his crystalline green stare. When the Doi fetched her from Chitral's top, she'd been paler than milk, bloodied and battered.
Sipping steaming tea, he struggled to calm tempestuous emotions. She'd witched him- well, her blasted cat had- then run off into a horrific blizzard to claim the glittering gem which now rested under her pillow.
But he couldn't hate a kindred spirit; their spark was one and the same.

Alanna/Liam isn't the most popular pairing, but I absolutely adore it, and I love how sweetly you write them together. ♥

I did kind of notice that people don't seem to be responding to it, which is perfectly fine by me... I just needed an excuse to write about them. For the long run I do prefer Alanna/George, but Alanna/Liam is more dynamic to write in my opinion. They do have a lot of sweetness, I think, but other things get in the way! Two people with that much pride wouldn't have lasted!

Wow, I love this! I've always been a fan of what Alanna and Liam had, and I think you've captured the essence of it beautifully here. The last line is particularly striking. Can't wait to read more!
