Title: Sole Nobility Rating: G Couple/Character: Alanna of Trebond/Liam Ironarm Event: 100 word dash Words: 100 Summary: One evening after receiving his letter from the Wildcat, Alanna contemplates her feelings concerning the Dragon's death.
***
“He used his death well.”
Alanna recalled the Wildcat's words with a painful clarity. They'd numbed her once spoken, because she realized she agreed with Liam's mentor. For years she'd been of the devout opinion that dead was dead, and one couldn't accomplish anything from the grave. The Dragon's death had changed her: he'd fallen the way she herself expected to, fervently fighting for what he believed to be right, protecting his comrades as ferociously as the mythical animal he was named for.
She gazed out at the wind rippled, moonlight bathed dunes. Salty, warm tears wet her cheeks.

Aww, Liam. ♥ He did use his death well, and I'm glad Alanna agrees with that.

Me too!
Random sidenote- Once I read how he died, I started having this weird tendency of associating Liam with Boromir... but there aren't Orcs in Tortall...

Oh, lovely. The bittersweet tone here is perfect. I'm glad Alanna realizes the value in a valiant death. Also, I'm dying over the Boromir connection. That's hilarious!
