Title: Dark Eyes Rating: PG Couple/Character: Rosethorn, Mindhealer Dedicate Cicelysong Event: 110 word hurdle Words: 110 Warnings: Allusions to Gyongxe Summary: Most wouldn’t describe the woman’s eyes dark by hue.
Dark eyes.
Most wouldn’t describe the woman’s eyes dark by hue. Even in the shade of an oak, where the wounded and the healer spoke, her eyes caught light that drove gold into her brown eyes and turned them to mulch. Mind-healing had brought those eyes to varied states of expression: restrained laughter, free chortles, tight frowns, the one-spark-one-dark of an arched eyebrow and more; all expressions of the woman were on display as much in her eyes as in her brows, her lips, the lines of her face or the slope of her shoulders.
They were not dark eyes by nature, the mind-healer thought.
Gyongxe had made them dark.

Oh my, yes. I like how Cicelysong notices all the different moods / tones with Rosie. Very well done.

Thank you! I think noticing all the different moods and tones of a person is something a mind-healer must possess to be skilled at her trade (and that only the best and bravest would be put forward to Rosethorn). I know that was certainly the case with my therapist! Glad you liked it and thank you again for the comment! ♥

*shivers* I like the double meaning of dark, and Cicelysong's astute power of observation.

I like this piece because it not only shows the sensitivity and empathy of the character, but the author as well. It's dazzling.

I love how aware Cicelysong is about the shifting aspects of Rosethorn's moods, and the wordplay on dark was just brilliant
