Title: Glimmer Rating: G Couple: Kara/Halef Seif Event: 110 word hurdles Word Count: 110 Summary: Suddenly a possibility becomes more of a reality.
They stood facing each other, saying nothing. People were clearing dishes from their dinners, chattering softly now that communing with the Voice had reached its end. Metallic sliding noises signaled a practice bout between warriors commencing.
But they didn’t move. Their eyes were locked upon one another. She felt her cheeks flush, aware of so many overwhelming feelings. But she could not look away.
They had seen glimpses of each other’s souls while communing with the Voice. There was something sacred shared, a knowledge the Voice had that burned in their blood for a glimmer of a moment.
He smiled, then turned and headed into his tent without a word.

Ooh, I adore the way you've woven the moment of the Voice in here. It feels somehow revealing and secretive at the same time. And the last line is so beautifully open-ended.

I love the vague awareness of the outside world, and the real sense of community it gives - it sets the scene nicely for their own little bubble.

I love this, the quiet moment where they understand some aspect of each other. It's a lovely insight into what the moment of the Voice entails - and almost, a little, as if Kara is beneath a metaphorical veil, even if she might not be wearing her Bazhir veil any longer. (Don't know about that last bit.)

This is so very pretty - you've captured the Bazhir culture in such a gorgeous way. The romance is lovely and gives me tingles. I eagerly await more!

Thank you, everyone. This was one of those scenes I could *see* in my head, but wasn't sure if it was coming across properly. Thank you!!

Thank you, Nicki! It's a really nice trick to keep up my sleeve when writing these two.
