Round/Fight: 1/A

“Bored.”
“Boring.”
“He bored, she bored, they bored.”
“All a bored.”
“I was going to say that!”
“Too bad, Sergeant.”
“Have you ever been more bored?” Dom asked, lying, on his back, across the width of his bed with his head hanging over the edge, upside-down.
“No- wait, there was that time in Pirate’s Swoop,” Evin replied, shuffling a deck of cards.
“Care to elaborate? It can’t be more boring than this.”
“Actually, it is more boring than this, whatever this actually is.”
“This is what I like to call boredom-“ Dom began.
“Stop, from now on, no one says bored.” Evin’s voice sounded tired and rather bored.
“Why?”
“Because it’s boring-“
“Ha, you said bored!”
“Actually, I said ‘boring’, you said ‘bored.”
“You just said ‘bored’!”
“I said ‘bored’ to say that I heard that you said 'bored'.”
“That makes no sense what-so-ever.”
“I know, but it made me less bored.”
“You replaced boredom with confusion?”
“Yes.”
“Well that’s stupid.”
“At least it’s not boring,” Evin pointed out.
Dom sighed, looking at Evin upside-down, he groaned, “All my blood’s rushing to my head.”
Evin chuckled, looking over from the cards in his hand he said, voice light, “You look as red as a tomato-“
“And my head is spinning faster than Wolset did when he rolled down that hill.”
Evin laughed, “I remember that! His face had never been so green!”
“He was sick for a week after, you know,” Dom grunted as he pulled himself back onto the bed, so his head wasn’t hanging.
After a minute of silence, Dom asked, “Now, what?”
Evin shrugged.
A few more minutes passed; Evin shuffling and rearranging cards and Dom staring at the ceiling.
“I’m bored!” Dom’s voice winged.
Evin sighed, dropping his head to hit the tabletop.
“It’s decided,” He mumbled into the table, “Boredom is like a cold-“
“Actually, I think boredom is like my cousin; it comes, it goes, but while it’s there, it makes you want to reach out and throttle it.”
Evin chuckled, he asked; holding the deck of cards in a hand, “Want to play?”
“Now you ask! Why couldn’t you have asked ten minutes ago?”
“Because I wasn’t bored ten minutes ago. Now are you playing or not?”
Jumping up, Dom grinned, “Of course I am!”
