Title: Roommates (One)
Rating: G
Word Count: 301
Pairing: Dom/Evin
Round/Fight: 2/A
Summary: The Riders barracks has burned down and the Riders need somewhere to stay.
"There isn't room!" Raoul cried, throwing himself into a chair.
"We'll make room," Buri replied sternly.
Raoul turned to the king. "Jon, these people couldn't share a mess hall, let alone living quarters!"
King Jonathan sighed, stroking his beard. “We don't really have a choice, Raoul."
"Sure we do!” The Knight Commander stood and began pacing. “They have tents and bedrolls!"
Buri, too, rose to her feet. "Winter is coming, Raoul. They can't start work on the new barracks until after the ground thaws."
"But that's months away!" Raoul whined, collapsing into a different chair.
"This discussion's over Raoul,” Jon said, making to leave the room. “The Riders are moving into the Own barracks."
Raoul scrubbed his face with his palms. "Oh, this is such a bad idea."
Dom sat on his bed, glaring at his open door, daring one of those marauding Riders to enter. A very brave (or very stupid) Rider stuck his head around the door, surveying the space.
"Well, this is cosy," he said as he lay his bedroll on the ground beside Dom's bed.
"Evin,” Dom growled, “I'm sure there are plenty of other people around here you can annoy. Why must it be me?"
Evin grinned as he rummaged through the few possessions he had that had survived the fire. "I like annoying you, Dom."
“Well can’t you annoy me from a distance, perhaps from someone else’s room?”
Evin frowned, absentmindedly fluffing his sooty pillow. “From someone else’s room?”
“Yes, I’m sure you’ll be able to annoy me just as much from there as you can from here.”
Evin shrugged, undaunted by Dom’s withering glare. “Well, if I’ll be just as annoying whether here or there it shouldn’t matter where I sleep. Besides,” he said gesturing to his meagre pile of belongings, “I’ve already unpacked.”
