Pendants
The fashion lately has been large, beautifully crafted pendants hung on delicate gold chains. Daja loves gold for its beauty, but most of all for its willingness to do almost anything she asks of it.
The shop is swelteringly hot and the kaq in front of her has been dithering over two of Daja’s bracelets for the last half an hour.
Leaning on the counter, the woman’s pendant swings out to hover over her ample bosom, and Daja can’t help herself. She asks a link to weaken.
Curiosity
“What does it feel like?” Laura, a distant cousin of Sandry’s asks. The woman is looking at Daja’s hand where the living metal stretches across the palm and two fingers. Daja hesitates then stretches her hand out between them.
“You can touch it if you like,” Daja blushes as she offers. Laura is beautiful with gold blond hair, like Sandry’s, but with a more regal nose and light brown eyes.
“I’d love to.” Laura’s fingers are warm and gentle and Daja can’t help the shiver that runs through her. Laura notices and her hand stills.
“You know, I’ve heard other rumours,” and Laura’s fingers are deliberate as they stroke across Daja’s palm to her wrist, “maybe you could show me if they’re true?”
And Daja looks into the woman's eyes, bright with curiosity, and breathes:
“Yes.”
