Title: E is for Errant Rating: G Word Count: Pairing: Jon/Zahir – Team Bend-a-lot Round/Fight: 1A Summary: (adj) going astray, esp doing wrong; moving aimlessly.
Jonathan lets him go, because he has to. At times he envies his former squire, envies the life he could have had if he wasn’t king.
He tries not to dwell on it. Instead he attends his councils, talks to the new training master, signs what he’s told to, and smiles when he has to.
Once, he had wanted to be king. He had been young and vain, proud of who he was and what awaited him.
He is still the same boy, though now his hair is greying and his children are growing up. He is still selfish, wanting things he can’t have.

Oh, Jonathan is portrayed so...sadly, I suppose, in this. I especially love that very last turtle.

Oh, this is SAD. I do, however, like that Jon let Zahir go.

Beautifully melancholy. There's so much emotion in this short piece.
