Title: D is for Dream Rating: PG Word Count: 109 Pairing: Jon/Zahir – Team Bend-a-lot Round/Fight: 1A Summary: (n) a stream of thoughts and images experienced during sleep; a day-dreaming state, a reverie; an ambition; an ideal.
(The first night, he sinks into a pool of deep blue, familiar and cool against his skin. He closes his eyes and lets it wash over him; to drown in the blue would not be such a terrible thing, he thinks quietly to himself. Death is always an unwelcome thought, yet to go this way would be almost euphoric; like a kiss, or a shiver, before being pinched out of existence.)
He wakes up. It is almost days before he notices anything, realises where his thoughts are leading him, but soon he finds himself getting lost in those pools of deep blue, and it is not an unwelcome thought.

Ooooh, this is so pretty! And it has that ethereal quality that dreams have.

I completely agree with Mandi. The dream-state quality of the writing is lovely, and I'm intrigued and pleased by the use of parentheses.
Gorgeous. Also, "pinched out of existence" is such an unexpected, beautiful turn of phrase.
