Title: So not done
Rating: PG-13 (or erm, R if you’ve got a dirty mind)
Word count: 308
Pairing: Jonathan/Zahir
Round/Fight: Round 1, Fight A
Summary: 6th Part of the ‘So not true’ series, where Jonathan is not in denial, or jealous, or wrong, or uhh … well see for yourself .
“You have to thrust and twist at the same time.” Jon instructed, gesturing with his sword.
“Like this?” Zahir tried to copy the move, but his weapon was larger and not as easy to manoeuvre.
“No. Not quite.” Jon stepped around behind his squire and shifted his hold on the weapon. “This is where having such a wider, thicker sword is a disadvantage. But it’s not impossible. I learned this move from Alanna, who can perform expertly with both large and small weapons.” Jon guided Zahir slowly through the intricate weave of thrusts and twists. The two men were so in tune their hearts beat as one.
“As you reach the end, you have to push it through hard, and finish your opponent off. Doing it with a flourish would be even better.” Jon smiled.
Zahir did as he was told, again and again. After he finally managed to perform to Jon’s satisfaction, he sagged against the King limply. “Wow. That was rougher than I thought.”
“Good work. You did superbly well.” Jon patted him on the shoulder, breathing heavily.
“Thank you Jon.” Zahir grinned. “I always enjoy our sessions.”
“Good. I’m glad to hear it.”
After a moment, Zahir turned to Jon with an insolent grin. “Maybe I’ll meet you on the practice courts early tomorrow, and we can have a rematch?” His dark eyes shone with mischief. “I’ll bet I can turn the tables on you.”
“Bring it on squire. A knight master is always ready and up to the challenge.” Jon turned and walked away with a secret smile.
“While we’re at it, we might as well work on some real fencing!” Zahir couldn’t resist calling out as Jon was pulling the door closed behind him.
Zahir knew Jon would pay him back for that remark later. But he wasn't done yet. Not even close.
